The Centvix engineering journal
A first post on why Centvix is starting an engineering blog and what we plan to write about.
At Centvix we have been building products across fairly different domains for a while now: Parantaj on the finance side, Looplio for recurring operations, MXTerm for mail hosting, and Garajdaş for the vehicle community. Alongside those we run media brands like devrazzi, erkekse and sakinkal, and open-source projects such as CommitBrief and BabelQueue.
Carrying that many products with one team means most of the decisions we make never get written down anywhere. That is exactly why we are starting this blog: to keep a record of the choices we made, the approaches we tried, and the things that did not work.
What we will write about
- Software: the languages, tools and habits we actually use day to day
- Architecture: how the systems behind our products are put together, and why that way
- Product: how an idea gets prioritised, and what we decide not to build
Posts will range from long technical write-ups to short notes. Sometimes it will be a few paragraphs on why one git command made our lives easier; sometimes it will be the reasoning behind rewriting a service from scratch.
The goal is not marketing. It is to explain our own decisions in the open. If that turns out to be useful to someone working on the same problems, that is enough.
